It’s the greatest time of the year! And no, I’m not talking about Christmas, people.
Not even talking about Thanksgiving, which in case you forgot, comes before Christmas, AND it involves food, so that’s a lofty statement.
I’m talking about the Garage Barre™ Burn It Up challenge! We know that it’s the busiest time of the year, and you don’t really think you’re going to have time to wash your hair, much less go to *a* class, but you can. You can even do both (okay dry shampoo counts).
And that’s the beauty of this challenge. You have 30 days to reach your goal—whether that’s 10 classes or 30 classes. You get to decide what’s feasible and what you want to achieve. So what do you have to lose? You have a lot to gain, including a super cool gift at the end of the road. If a super cool gift isn’t enough to get you off the fence, what will? We have a few other points to make in case our super cool gift doesn’t motivate you enough.
I know that this is one of those “well duh” statements, but it really works, especially when you set your own goals. Having a community of cheerleaders is a big deal on its own, but having tangible aids, like a calendar for you to write down your daily and weekly goals, will get you to the end of the challenge in no time. Plus, time will fly by anyways because you will be having SO MUCH FUN, especially during abs.
Get to Your Roots
In case you didn’t know already, we are a big proponent in defining the ‘why’ behind everything that we do. During this challenge, we will encourage you to stick to your ‘why’, and we encourage you to choose something beyond “losing weight” and “looking better in my clothes," because to be real, you already look great (haaaaaaaaay). But really, you may surprise yourself with what you find when you do a little internal digging: you may be so super busy with other things going on your life, that you’ve been neglecting the self-love that you’re craving, or maybe you’ve just simply not allowed yourself to commit to your workout. Don’t be afraid to dive deep.
It’s Not Just About the Exercise
It’s about you. This is your chance to push yourself out of your comfort zone, and celebrate the non-scale victories that come along with that. That may be accomplishing your first full roll-up without picking up your feet, or noticing that your skinny jeans feel a tad bit more loose than they used to. Whatever they are, they're worth celebrating!
It Will Offset the Holidays
I mean, we’re going to eat [all of] that cheeseball anyways, so we might as well balance it out with some leg-shaking-pulse-dense workouts. The key word is balance. Hear hear?
You Don’t Have a Reason Not to
There’s really nothing to lose here except the opportunity (is that in a Hallmark card somewhere?), and at the end of the day, we want you to remember that this is for you. It's already been said like five times in this one post because it is that important. Don’t take yourself so seriously, have fun, and don’t lose sight of why you have your goals in place. An hour is not a lot of time when you are committing some self-love, and you are so worth it.
Time to put your hair in a messy bun, turn on the gangsta rap, and get. it. done.
